So I'm a little behind in the times, but I finally saw South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut. It was made in 1999. Count it, kids. That's 8 years ago. Holy! I was expecting something vulgar and ballsy, but it was actually tastefully done (in the most tasteful "South Park" manner). It was ballsy, yeah, but it eerily portrayed the world today. A lot has happened since 1999 and it was almost bizarre watching the film from this point in time. Dare I say it was kind of insightful? So bizarre, so bizarre. Anyway, I liked it. I never really got into "South Park", I have to admit. I've seen a select few episodes and laughed my pants off everytime. I'm always stunned at how daring the show is; the violence that happens makes me go, "Oh my god!" And then laugh in disbelief. I have to give props to Trey Parker and Matt Stone for doing what they do. They get away with a lot of stuff but hey man, we laugh 'cause it's mostly true. |
