I'm sure it bothers everyone when someone undermines your authority. You're in charge, so you get to call the shots! But when someone right there with you decides to take over and show them who's really boss-- it kind of... sucks. It gives you this inferior feeling that hey, maybe I wasn't in charge after all. It irks me. Now, I'm an extremely nice person so I don't like 'shoving people around' when I'm charge but when I have to 'take hold of the reins', I'll be nice about it and it works out in the end. Because things will fall in place even if there are some gaps to jump at the moment. But... I'm very bothered by this [authority being undermined] right now. Very bothered. |

Yes, everything always works itself out, but it would still suck to be undermined.
That's why when I was hired as a head coach, I told them I didn't need an assistant.:)
