You know those women who are at the top of their game, who know they are the shit, and you just don't want to mess with? They frighten me. It's intimidating. I met one the other night and I was shaking in my shoes. The whole time I was thinking, "I am going to be 1/8 of a woman you are." But what can we do? When we, women, are in male-dominated fields of work, there's no other way to be except to be fierce. I guess it's because we're always out trying to prove that men aren't always the best at these things, that we can do them just as well. I get that, and I can feel the heat of competition. So I have to give it up to those women because to get up that ladder and reach the top-- that's tough. It's just... They're all a bit frightening. |
