Mr. Feeny is in Blades of Glory! Man, I totally grew up on Boy Meets World. Thinking about that show makes me nostalgic. Oh, the 90's. I loved Cory. Shawn was a total hottie and I loved how quirky Eric was. Mr. Feeny was just plain awesome and "Topanga!" Oh my god, remember Minkus!? I kind of had a thing for Harley at one point. Those two goons that hung around him, Frankie (now Randy on My Name is Earl) and Joey the Rat (now of The Elected / Rilo Kiley). Ohh, Mr. Turner. Dude, I thought he was smokin' even with that mullet. (I think the first 4 seasons are out on DVD.) I remember looking forward to TGIF on ABC and waiting to see what happened to Cory next. Oh, wow. Do you remember TGIF? I remember the line-up as Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. I kept watching when Sabrina the Teenage Witch came later but somewhere soon after, TGIF kind of died out. And ha! After TGIF was always 20/20 with Barbara Walters. I always remembered switching off the TV whenever that started. Sorry, Barb. Suddenly I feel very old. Speaking of which, I was talking to a friend recently and he mentioned that there's a very big generation gap between ours and the latest. They don't remember what we grew up on. For us and the older generations, we're pretty knowledgeable with the 70's and 80's, so the gap isn't that big. We dig the vintage things. But it's just plain weird when you talk to the latest generation because they have no idea what Salute Your Shorts or Legends of the Hidden Temple were. Or what those slap bracelets were. (I had a neon green and pink one!) Making those 90's references warrants a strange look. It feels like the 90's wasn't anything. But it was, man. It was. |
