![]() Can I just say that I'm really enjoying this weather? Low 60's, low humidity, and that nice Fall breeze. Anyway, that nice Fall breeze lead me to a brisk walk the other day, and I ended up in the children's section of Barnes & Noble. I was talking with friends about our favorite children's books the day before and I got nostalgic. So I sat myself down, picked out all the books I could remember and read through them. My favorites were all the Chris van Allsburg books because his illustrations always transported me into his magical worlds. Goodnight Moon always made me drift off into a nice, relaxed sleep (I actually got a little woozy reading it). But my all-time favorite children's book? Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. If you haven't heard of it, the next time you go to the bookstore, sit down and read this little story about the town of Chewandswallow. It'll make you a little hungry. While we're on food, I had dinner at Justin Timberlake's restaurant, Southern Hospitality, yesterday night. I wasn't expecting some fancy-schmancy restaurant but more of a hanging out kind of place paying homage to his Tennessee. And it was just that. Holy cow, it was a lot of food and deep fried pickles? Surprisingly good. No TrackBacksTrackBack URL: http://www.toastier.org/cgi-bin/mt/mt-tb.cgi/145 |

Hi, my name is Amy. Be well, and say hello!

We read it in our third grade reading book, and then the teacher had us write stories using the vocab words from the story.
I was super original and wrote mine about a town where the weather was all juice, but my teacher thought it was pretty great anyway. I wonder if I still have it somewhere at home...probably thrown away by now, I suppose, but I kept it for awhile.
Kid books make me wistful-happy.

I loved that book! I completely forgot about it. Funny how some things are universal.
Now I want to go to Justin Timberlake's restuarant. I imagine in real life he's such a douchebag though. I've had deep-fried pickles before and they are really good.
Weren't crater-sized pancakes falling on the roofs of houses? With syrup?
They're turning it into a CGI film in 2009.
