American Gangster was so badass. It was amazing. There was this one part where I sat there dreading the inevitable. Gripping moments like those make for a great film, when it is so engaging and so captivating. Denzel Washington is the man! I love that guy. Training Day is still my favorite role of his but holy cow, he was so badass. The film was just badass. I can't describe it any other way.

So right after the film, I went and bought Jay-Z's latest album of the same title. It's not the soundtrack to the film, but rather a "concept album"-- basically it was inspired by the film. I like it a lot, but I could be biased because, yes, Jay-Z is my favorite rapper. (Say what? I listen to rap? Yes I do.)

At any rate, American Gangster was badass. I've said that word 4 times in this entry.

Seth says:

I had a chance to see it, but I was with my family and my dad doesn't like any movie that can be described as "badass". Quite the square, that guy, so we ended up seeing Bee Movie instead. I feel the weight of this choice all the more heavily now.
