I love staring at the ocean, particularly around sunset and well into the night, and at the night's sky. Something about their infiniteness pulls me. I fall into the abyss, lost in the darkness, lost in my thoughts.

The other night, I plopped myself down and stared into the night's sky. The stars twinkled at me as I silently mouthed the constellations to myself. With my hands propped behind my head, I relaxed into a slow and steady breath. The sounds of the night filled my ears and a small breeze danced around me, causing me to shiver. I wish I could say that I had this amazing revelation or that suddenly, everything became clear. But really, all I can say is that it was a moment of peace, a moment of calming solitude. And in this crazy world we live in, I think it was everything I could ask for.

I often think about that night in France when we just stared at the sky for quite some time because it was full to the brim with stars. Stretching out over us endlessly. I regret not having spent more time stargazing there.
