Two things occur in my head whenever I see people running frantically to catch the bus in the city: 1) Chariots of Fire, and my favorite 2) I secretly and silently root for them. In my head I'm cheering, "You can do it! YOU CAN DO IT! You'll make it, you will! YOU'LL MAKE IT." My heart kind of leaps and does somersaults for them whenever they catch the bus. There's just something really satisfying about that, you know? You can literally see this immense sigh of relief wash over their faces. Because all that running—in suits, in heels, in scrubs, with canes, with strollers, with food flying all over the place, in bad shape, in good shape—deserves that one moment of bliss.

Maybe it would be different if I lived in ny and wasn't an awful person, but every time I see some student running for the rutgers bus and miss it, I think to myself "ahahaha. Sucker. Maybe next time.

Also... I really liked this entry.
